Hi everyone!
I haven’t been here for more than a week and I’m definitely not accustomed to that. Ever since I started my blog I tried to post at least once a week. Slowly but surely I realised it wasn’t all about the schedules but more about the content and I never wanted to be one of those people who would put out content for the sake of it, whilst not being proud of it.
I’m here just to give you guys a little update on what I’ve been doing – kinda like old school blogging where everything was a journal. I miss those days. I used to write a blog post a day back in secondary school. I want this blog post to feel like that.
WARNING – if you don’t want to hear about my small business and my journey so far, click away!
Firstly, thank you to everyone who supported my soap business. Never did I think I’d be hosting a giveaway on my Instagram this early into launching my micro business. And YES, the giveaway is still open. Just head to Snuggly Duckling Crafts to enter – it is open worldwide! Just follow all the rules to participate.
Secondly, I made over 70 soaps in the past month! I never EVER thought I’d be able to do that by myself whilst holding a full time 44 hour-per-week job. It has been crazy, it has been very tiring but it has also been so extremely fulfilling. I love seeing my creations come to life.
Thirdly, I’ve done my first few international orders and I’m so happy. My main target audience was always the UK and not only did I send out 3 packages to the UK in the past month, I’ve also had an order from Denmark just today!
I am very very excited. Denmark is somewhere I never thought I’d be delivering to, but look at me holding the package, ready to be mailed at the post office tomorrow.
I hope I don’t sound like I’m boasting, I genuinely am not, I’m just happy with how the soap stuff is turning out. It is still a very slow process and I’m still learning in the midst of all of it, but it is looking good. I’ve even made an Etsy shop but I have put my status as ‘on holiday’ as for some reason Etsy won’t let me link my bank account. I’m still open for orders on my Instagram page though, so hit me up there if you’re interested.
I managed to meet two very close friends this month and we went out for a lovely lunch at Gardens By The Bay, an expensive location I would never usually visit apart from with special people. In case you were wondering what I had….. avocado toast. That’s it. And some earl grey lavender cake……
And I loved every bit!
I’m sorry I haven’t been very active on the blog, I haven’t had the chance to actually sit down and write something ‘good’, but what’s better than a heart to heart? I’m lying in bed in my pajamas, typing this out on my phone with my Spotify playlists playing in the background.
It is 12.51am, I’ve had my first lie-down since getting up at 9.30am this morning, my back and neck are both aching, and I’m tired from standing on my feet for 2 hours making more snowflake soaps for a bulk order for my nail technician for Christmas. Eternally grateful. Tired, but grateful.
How have you been? Has the steady month of November been treating you well?
Tell me something you’ve done recently that you’re proud of. I’d love to hear it!
